Pre-Service Requirements – Ensuring a Safe and Smooth Visit
At Benson Boiler Services H₂, safety and respect for our customers’ homes are at the heart of what we do. To help us complete your service safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption, please take a few moments to prepare before your engineer arrives.
Boiler Condition:
The boiler or appliance must be functional and operating normally at the time of our visit. If the appliance is not working or unable to be fired, the visit will be classed as a repair call rather than a service, and additional charges may apply.Cooling Time:
For safety, the boiler or cooker must be cool enough to work on before the engineer arrives. Appliances such as Stanley range cookers can take up to four hours to cool down completely after use, so please ensure it is turned off well in advance of your appointment.Clear Access:
Safe and unobstructed access is required to the boiler, associated pipework, and any controls or areas our engineers needs to inspect. Please move any items, furniture, or stored goods that may restrict access, ensuring there is adequate space to work safely.Safety and Environment:
Please make sure there is sufficient lighting and ventilation in the working area. For everyone’s safety, we kindly ask that pets and children are kept away from the work area while the service is being carried out.Helpful Information:
If you’ve noticed any unusual noises, intermittent faults, or performance changes, please let our engineer know — this information helps us provide the most thorough and helpful service possible.Uncompleted Work Policy:
In the rare instance that our engineer cannot complete the service due to lack of access, unsafe conditions, or the appliance not being suitable for service at the time of arrival, a £40 call-out charge plus mileage will apply to cover travel and time costs.
We truly appreciate your co-operation and understanding. These steps help us work safely, protect your property, and ensure every visit is completed to the high standards we pride ourselves on.
